Let’s Talk Cider

Cider is a fermented alcoholic drink made from the juice of apples or pears. Hard cider, as it’s called in the United States, is usually the non-alcoholic and unfiltered apple juice with a tarter taste than the alcoholic versions. The alcoholic content arises with adding extra fruit or sugar prior to a second fermentation.

Cider is extremely popular in the UK and in Europe and increasing in popularity in Australia. These days, Ciders come in many flavours in addition to the traditional apple and pear. Ciders can range from dry to sweet with colours varying from clear, often resembling sparkling wine to amber dark brown.

APPLE CIDER

We deliver Apple Cider from the Sydney Brewery Co who created the cider to celebrate our vibrant city. The cider is made from crushed apples and fermented with champagne yeast. Then a light carbonation is added which gives a crisp, clean finish. Great to have on a balmy Sydney evening. Pork goes great with Apple Cider and here’s a tip: You can pour apple cider over your roasting pork or pork chops when cooking to give a lovely glaze and flavor.
